Hello and happy Wednesday!
I thought I would share with you today how The Stamping shed came about, and in the middle of a pandemic too! I mean who does that? Some people would think we are a bit bonkers?
So back at the beginning of this year my partner was working on the roof here and happened to be chatting with the landlady who mentioned that the premises was available to rent. It has been home to numerous businesses in the past including a beauty/nail bar, an office and many many years ago a Greengrocers! (I actually lived across the road from the shop when I was a baby for the first 5 years of my life, my grandparents owned Raikes farm)
My partner ( michael ) came home that day after chatting with her buzzing with ideas of what he/we could do with the shop, I was in a job that I wasn’t enjoying too much at the time working remotely from home, and since I left my previous job quite a few years ago at a local craft shop I had missed it very much and all the lovely customers too. So I suggested why not open a craft shop? I mean why not? There was nothing in this area that specialises in stamping and papercraft? I had some previous experience and it would get me back to doing what I love and makes me happy And that is how it all began…..it kind of felt like fate……
At the end of February we got the keys and started work straight away. We gave everywhere a fresh coat of paint ( well when I say we I mean michael and his workmen who did an amazing job) and we added new flooring upstairs in preparation for using the space for workshops.
We had to re-plaster one of the walls….
I started working on the branding with Jenny at 8Woodview design who really helped my idea for this come to life and has been amazing with our website construction too!
Outside got a lick of paint, the shop front has 2 enormous windows which I love for the good light!
I found the perfect lighting…..LOVE these so much! this photo doesn’t do them justice…
The Slatwall and Ikea pieces went up…..
The signage was installed….
The stock started to arrive…the best bit!
I had a stamp custom made for branding the paper bags…..
The Bunting added a pop of colour and finishing touch to outside…
It’s been so lovely to meet new customers and see previous customers from my old job!
I’m looking forward to hopefully meeting many more Crafty folk!
I hope you have enjoyed todays post, Thank you so much for popping by…..
